The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge reached Bradley’s Department of Physical Therapy and Health Science department as Dr. Steve Tippett took the cold shower in front of students and staff this week on Olin Quad.
Tippett, chair of the Department of Physical Therapy and Health Science, encouraged students to contribute to ALS research. Those who donated to the cause were allowed to contribute a gallon of water to the cold mix. Forty-eight students contributed to the fundraiser.
“It’s not about ice or the challenge,” Tippett said. “It’s about how students take an active role in fighting diseases like ALS.”
Alumnus Patrick Pabian ’00, who is now a physical therapy professor at the University of Central Florida, challenged him. The challenge was passed on to several Hilltop alumni.
