Bradley’s Public Relations Student Society of America announced Melissa Dillinger, communications manager for Caterpillar’s Integrated Manufacturing Operations Division, will be speaking on February 15 at 7 p.m. in the Global Caterpillar Communications Center in room 202.

Melissa is a 2002 Bradley communications graduate and will be speaking to students about her professional journey.  Melissa will specifically highlight her experiences as a broadcast journalist, multimedia specialist, and now as a communications manager supporting Caterpillar’s largest division.  At the end of the session students will be able to walk away with helpful tips and suggestions on how they can turn their Bradley degree into a rewarding career in communications.

While attending Bradley, Melissa was involved in many student organizations and took advantage of several university sponsored internship experiences.

“Melissa was an excellent student at Bradley, so I’m not surprised to hear of her professional success,” Dr. Paul Guillfor, communication department chairperson, said. “I’m thrilled to learn that she is returning to Bradley to share her experience and wisdom with our current students.”

In her current role, Melissa oversees all communication efforts for Caterpillar’s Integrated Manufacturing Operations Division.  She’s responsible for leading a diverse team, of approximately 30 global communicators, and developing innovative communication tools for the vice president of her division including blogs, interactive meetings, executive reports and speeches.

“I’m excited to hear what a communicator at a global company like Caterpillar has to say about making it in the professional world,” Ken Sanderman, senior public relations student, said.

The meeting is free to the public and students. For more information about the meeting contact Rachel Fogle at 309-310-7926 or by email at [email protected]
