Scarff in those years received two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships. Late in the seventies with two other sculptors he purchased a Chicago Common Wealth Edison sub-station and has worked for the past thirty years from the Sedgwick Station space using it’s neon/light lab and welding studio, created numerous large-scale architectural sculptures. For 13 years, Scarff has curated and staged “The Odyssey Sculpture Series” on the campus of Purdue North Central University where they have exhibited 120 large-scale works by over 60 professional sculptors.
