Saxophonist Keith Zimmerman in Concert

Keith M. Zimmerman, soprano and alto saxophonist, now in his 20th year at Bradley leading saxophone ensembles and teaching applied saxophone, will be joined by friend, co-collaborator, and former Bradley faculty member Andrea Molina in a free recital on Sunday, September 15, at 3 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center.

For the opening recital of his 66th year of saxophone, Zimmerman has selected a combination of French and American classical saxophone repertoire, light classical transcriptions, and jazz-oriented pieces. Included are Burnet Tuthill’s Sonata; Henri Tomasi’s Concerto; Claude Debussy’s Rhapsodie; a medley from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess; Martini’s Pleasure of Love; Schubert’s Ave Maria; Rudy Wiedoeft’s signature Saxophobia; and Zimmerman’s own setting of Amazing Grace.

Zimmerman is the leader and co-founder of the Illinois Saxophone Quintet. He has played in France, Germany, England, Canada, and many U.S. states. He is also an artist clinician for Paris Selmer saxophones and E. Rousseau mouthpieces. More on Zimmerman.
