The Musical Key to Success

Clara Capriotti, a sophomore flute student, is experiencing great success in the highly competitive field of musical performance. In March, she competed in the Wisconsin Flute Society’s Collegiate Competition, winning Third Prize with her performance of C.P.E. Bach’s Sonata for Flute in A Minor and Poem by Charles Griffes. “Competing at that level was a great source of motivation,” Capriotti said.

In April, she was named a winner of the National Flute Association’s Collegiate Flute Choir Competition. She will join twenty-five undergraduate flutists from across the country at the NFA’s Annual National Convention in August. Clara has also won a position at the highly acclaimed ARIA International Summer Academy in Massachusetts where she will study this summer.

Capriotti has grown through one-on-one music lessons with Dr. Kyle Dzapo, Bradley University’s flute professor and an internationally acclaimed flutist. “Clara is very bright, talented and hardworking,” Dzapo said. “That combination has led to her early success.” 

Capriotti has taken advantage of many opportunities to showcase her talents on Bradley’s campus. In addition to presenting solo performances, she is a member of the Bradley Symphonic Winds, Symphony Orchestra, and Collegium Musicum.
