The Collegium Musicum, Bradley University’s Early Music Consort, will present a recital on Thursday, December 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue.
The program will feature music from the Renaissance and Baroque including sacred instrumental duos and whimsical Dutch folk tunes; chromatically shocking fantasias and soulful lamentations (including Purcell’s famous Dido); and the soaring beauty and rewarding complexities of Johann Sebastian Bach.
Directed by Affiliate Instructor Lisette Kielson, Collegium core musicians Clara Capriotti (recorder, flute) and Maggie Sloter (voice, recorder, trombone) are joined by staff accompanist Molly Sloter (keyboard) and the Hilltop String Quartet (students Julie Haring & Molly Wilson, violin; Lindsay Kozlowski, viola; and William Akers, cello).
Admission is free and open to the public with refreshments following the performance. For more information, call 309-750-3234.
