Tips For Your Freshman Year

03/05/2020 12:05 AM

Hey class of 2024! College comes with a lot of changes to our lives however, they are exciting changes. I have decided to make a list to share with you how I have tackled these changes as a freshman. The list goes like this:

  1. Always go to events and activities you are interested in. My favorite events on campus are Late Night BU and Homecoming. There is no better place to make connections and friendships than in college.
  2. Find an app or physical schedule that works for you. I personally use an app called Istudiez Pro but most people I know use Google calendars. Time management is one of the key skills of being successful in college.
  3. Bring a winter coat your first semester. Speaking from experience you never know when you are going to need it.
  4. Get to know all of your teachers and meet with them regularly. It’s amazing how much information you can gain from speaking to teachers. It will also help you tremendously in classes.
  5. Decorate your dorm in a way that feels like home. My favorite thing to do is decorate my room according to the holiday. However, lights look nice no matter the season.
