Freshmen and transfer students made their debuts at Bradley this week, and the Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts rolled out the red carpet for their highly anticipated arrival upon the Hilltop.  Treated as stars, the students enjoyed an energetic Welcome Week festival, giving them a front-row view into everything the college can offer them.

A showcase of music, theatre and more awaited students inside the Global Communications Center, as the building was abuzz with the soulful sounds of the Bradley Jazz Combo.  Once the dean, department chairs and staff officially welcom`ed everyone, the talents of the theatre presented some spectacular numbers from the fall musical “Spring Awakening.” 

The curtains had not closed on the Welcome Week festivities yet.  Student organizations within the college took center stage, as students signed up to join the clubs that coincide with their interests in communications and fine arts. 

The afternoon closed on a sweet note as music performance major Maggie Sloter and her ensemble, “Ruby Spice,” serenaded the students as they settled into the Slane College with snow cones, cotton candy and popcorn in hand. 

Grab plenty of popcorn and get ready to watch the new stars of the Slane College shine in their first semester at Bradley.
