What I’m looking forward to this next semester?
Spring semester of junior year came SO FAST! As I get ready to begin the new semester, I’ve had time to reflect on the past few semesters of college. Junior year spring semester will definitely be different but in the best way.
This semester, I’ll be working on very major-specific classes. Previously, many of my courses have been unrelated to my major, because of core curriculum classes or electives. I’ve finally established my major/minor configuration (public relations and advertising double major with a minor in management and leadership), so now I can really get into the thick of my curriculum.
Some classes I’m taking this semester are Legal/Ethics Management, Operations Management, Human Resources Management, and my favorite of all… Celebrity and Fan Culture. The celebrity culture class is counting towards my junior/senior electives so I’m getting credits to learn all about my favorite celebs (doesn’t get better than that).
Also, next semester is going to be all about finding summer internships. Though this can be a bit of a daunting task, it’s exciting to think I will get to kick off my real-world experience as early as this summer. Bradley does a great job of providing resources to find internships in your field of interest that is also at a convenient location, pay-grade, or amount of time. Not-to-mention, you get CLASS CREDIT for internships!
Most of all, the spring semester will be a great time on the hilltop because there are so many events as it begins to get warmer. Though I won’t be on campus this semester, there is so much to do. Plenty of Late Night BU’s to attend, greek organization events, spring break, and so much more!
As I am studying abroad, I’m looking forward to doing a lot of outside traveling this semester. Many of my weekends are already booked with trips to Paris, Amsterdam, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and many more! Also, the UK’s academic system doesn’t have homework. Instead, they do one or two big projects. This will be really beneficial to my schedule, and I have NO CLASS Wednesday-Friday! Best of luck to all of you this next semester.
