Hey everyone!
Coming to Bradley, one of the biggest adjustments is getting used to dorm life. As a senior, I live off-campus now in an apartment — which I definitely love — but I honestly find myself missing the dorm life a lot! While it’s definitely nice having my own bathroom and my own bedroom off-campus, there are tons of perks to living on-campus. One of the things I constantly miss is the MEAL PLAN! Not only does Bradley have a bunch of great food options, like Chick-fil-a, Moe’s, Starbucks, or just some good old dining hall food, the food is super accessible and super convenient. Bradley is a small campus, so every food option is super walkable and I loved not having to worry about buying groceries, cooking food, or packing a lunch. It’s so easy to get a quick snack or a coffee and move on with your day! Another thing that I loved about dorm life was how close I was to everything on-campus. The dorms make it super easy to bounce around between your classes, the library, your extracurricular meetings, etc. I loved having everything so close to me and within a short walking distance, plus it was super easy to run back to my dorm in between everything.
Dorm life is also great because there are always fun things going on around campus, so it’s generally just a super lively place to be. If there aren’t entertainers in the Student Center ballroom, there are movies playing in the Student Center basement. If there aren’t Greek Life organizations having fundraisers on Olin Quad, there are other clubs playing laser tag on the Quad! There is always something fun to be apart of on campus, and it’s a really great community to be apart of.
What’s also great about life at Bradley is that no one is really ever too far off-campus. It is common for upperclassmen to move into an off-campus apartment or house, but all of those are right along the border of Bradley’s campus. Not only does this mean that people who live off-campus aren’t missing out on all of the fun stuff going on, but it also means that campus never feels like it’s only underclassmen who are around. At a lot of other schools, when people move off-campus, they move pretty far off-campus which can leave the campus feeling kind of empty. It is the total opposite at Bradley, everyone stays super close to campus and gets to be apart of all of the action!
