Winter Break (Spending Time With Friends) – Ben

Winter Break (Spending Time With Friends) – Ben

03/09/2020 1:04 AM

Hey y’all, Bens here with another blog. Finals ended for me last week and now I am back home. Of course, I will miss Bradley, I still am happy to be home. I thought for this blog I would like to talk about some of the things I do over winter break.

I love to catch up with my friends from back home. I text all my friends a week before I come back so we can all group up as soon as I come back. This year we played a bunch of board games and then all went to go see the new StarWars movie (which I personally thought was amazing, the best sequel so far). And throughout the break we will be doing countless other hometown activities that I miss at Bradley. We always go to our favorite Mexican restaurant back home. We are planning on going to the Science and Industry Museum in Chicago. And we will be sure to make more ridiculous videos for my friend’s youtube channel. So it is always great to meet up with guys that I don’t see every day anymore.

Chilling with friends is great, but I also have to do some productive things at the same time otherwise I will get way too bored. I really recommend getting a job early on in the summer that you can easily come back to when you are back home. All of the summer jobs I have worked unfortunately are all yardwork related so I sadly cannot come back to them in the Wintertime. So since I am pre-dental, I try to shadow as many dental offices and dental labs that I can over breaks. So throughout the semester, I have been in contact with a lot of dental associations near back home and all of them have reported that they would be more than happy to let me shadow them. So I will have the opportunity to shadow a lot of different dentist and their professions to not only get me more hours and also shows me a lot more fields I could go into with my major.

It will be a long month for Winter Break but as long as you plan to keep yourself busy, it will go by fast.
