Biography
Jabari was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Macomb, Illinois. He enjoyed competing in basketball and track & field. Upon completion of a Bachelors degree at Illinois Wesleyan and Masters at University of Illinois, Jabari moved to Charlotte, NC. He soon after pursued a Masters degree at the University of North Carolina Charlotte and achieved a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor license, and a Nationally Certified Counselor credential. Jabari served in community health organizations, early literacy programs, K-12 schools, after-school programs, collegiate counseling departments. He then pursued a Doctorate of Philosophy at the University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC). Upon graduating he taught classes as an adjunct professor at UNCC and became an assistant professor at Wake Forest University. He is now employed as an assistant professor at Bradley University.
Teaching
Adams has taught counseling practicum and internship courses, school counseling, brain-based interventions, substance-related and addictive disorders, multicultural and social justice counseling, counseling theories, mental and emotional disorders, research and statistics, career development, ethics in health and human services, and professional orientation to health and human services.
