Dr. Sherif Abdelfattah is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Information Systems (CS&IS) at Bradley University, which he joined in 2022. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in 2022. During his doctoral studies, he served as an instructor at Tennessee Tech. Prior to that, he held a research position at Polytechnic University of Turin, Turin, Italy.

Scholarship
Dr. Abdelfattah’s research interests span multiple fields, including cybersecurity, applied machine learning, artificial intelligence, cloud systems security, healthcare informatics, and intelligent transportation systems. He has published in leading IEEE journals, such as the IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Access and IEEE Systems Journal, as well as in prestigious international conference proceedings.
Service
In addition to his service on various committees and initiatives at Bradley University, Dr. Abdelfattah is a professional member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He actively contributes to his field through editorial, reviewing, and professional service roles, including serving as a reviewer, technical program committee member, and co-editor. Beyond academia, he is committed to workforce development, serving as both a course instructor and developer for the Bradley University IT Workforce Accelerator Project, where he teaches and designs Python courses.
