Scholars
Employment at Bradley University
Some J-1 scholars work at Bradley as part of their program. However, J-1 scholars are not allowed to work at Bradley without prior authorization from both their host department and the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISSS).
Off-Campus Employment (Incidental Employment)
J-1 scholars are not allowed to work off-campus without prior authorization from both their host department and OISSS. This employment must be incidental to your program at Bradley, meaning that it must not affect the completion of your program or your ability to meet any deadlines or goals given by your host department.
Unauthorized Employment
Scholars who do not receive prior written permission before participating in employment are engaging in illegal activity. If you do so, this is a violation of your visa status and you are no longer in status. In addition, it may result in termination of your SEVIS record.
