BSides Peoria
The Center for Cybersecurity has hosted the BSides Peoria cybersecurity conference at Bradley since its establishment by the Illinois Cyber Foundation in 2023. Each BSides is a community-driven framework for building events for and by information security community members. The goal is to expand the spectrum of conversation beyond the traditional confines of space and time. It creates opportunities for individuals to both present and participate in an intimate atmosphere that encourages collaboration. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. It is where conversations for the next-big-thing are happening.
Physical Security Village
The Physical Security Village, built and maintained by Bradley University, is a hands-on learning experience that brings the world of physical security to life. Through interactive locks, access-control systems, bypass challenges, and other real-world security technologies, participants can explore how physical vulnerabilities intersect with cybersecurity. Featured at BSides Peoria and other recruiting, educational, and community outreach events, the Village is designed to spark curiosity, build practical skills, and inspire the next generation of security professionals.
Human Hacking Village
The Human Hacking Village at BSides Peoria, launched in 2026, explores the human side of cybersecurity through interactive challenges, hands-on activities, and live competitions focused on social engineering, deception, influence, and security awareness. Attendees can test their ability to recognize attacks, manipulate information, think like an adversary, and defend against the tactics attackers use to exploit people rather than technology.
