Biography

Professor Wise joined Bradley University as affiliate faculty in 2018 and as full-time faculty in 2025. Before that time, she worked as hospital staff, charge nurse, and educator. Her clinical experience includes Labor and Delivery, Medical/Surgical nursing, Neonatal Intensive Care, Maternal-Fetal Diagnostics, and Home Care. She served on various Six Sigma committees and was a member of the hospital-wide Patient Care Council. Professor Wise eventually transitioned to Ambulatory Care Administration, including medical group management, ambulatory education, and Care Management.

Teaching

Professor Wise began teaching early in her nursing career as an American Society for Psychoprophylaxis in Obstetrics (ASPO) certified Lamaze childbirth educator. Her love for teaching continued as a hospital-based unit educator, teaching CPR, Newborn Care classes, Neonatal Resuscitation, and childbirth classes. She precepted many nurses throughout her career, and eventually moved into academia. She feels passionate about sharing knowledge, and primarily teaches online asynchronous classes at the graduate level including leadership, informatics, and community nursing.

Scholarship

Professor Wise is a past presenter at the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN) national conferences and has published in the International Journal of Childbirth Education. She is a member of the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nurses and the Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders.

Service

She has volunteered as a Faith Community Nurse for her church and with the Peoria Public Health Department, administering Covid-19 vaccinations during the pandemic.
