John Fendrich
Emeritus Faculty
Baker Hall
Biography
John served the department in many capacities for twenty years. John came to the department as its fifth member at the start of the rapid growth in interest in computing. He provided excellence in teaching for the “common man.” John served for five years as department chairman. John has taught most of the curriculum within the department, not just his specialty. In fact, during the decade of 1980-1990, John frequently taught four courses with four preparations, advised large numbers of students, and was very active in curriculum development within the department. John specialized in software engineering related areas and spent a significant amount of time and effort in this field. He was a voting member of a number of standards committees within this area and was nationally known for his interest in software engineering education.
