Biography
Obringers love for people stemmed from a young age, along with the calling to be a nurse. She graduated with her BSN and worked in critical care serving in different roles including charge nurse and mentoring nurse graduates. After many different experiences teaching at the bedside in critical care, this led to the desire to pursue her master’s as a nurse educator. Dr. Obringer then obtained her PhD in Nursing Science. Healthcare has changed tremendously over the years, but it is helping people that is the constant benefit she has most appreciated with this profession.
Teaching
Assistant Professor of Nursing in Residence. Graduate level research and DNP Project course. Dr. Obringer loves seeing students learn and develop new or improved skills/abilities such as becoming better communicators, writers, and critical thinkers. She am thankful for the professional relationships she has had the opportunity to experience and continue to experience.
Scholarship
End of Life Research focus of research trajectory involving presentations at the national and international level.
Service
Graduate Curriculum Committee. American Heart Association–volunteer, American Cancer Society-volunteer, Appendix Cancer Foundation–Volunteer. Local Community volunteer in church-community. Local women’s society volunteer.
