PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Iowa, following an MA in Counseling with an emphasis in Rehabilitation from the University of North Dakota and a BA in Psychology from Augsburg University. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in College Teaching from the University of Iowa.
Biography
Victoria Maneev is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling at Bradley University. She previously served as an Adjunct Instructor at Augsburg University and the University of St. Thomas, teaching courses in psychology, counseling, and lifespan development. Her professional background includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Iowa, where she supported research and instruction in counseling, psychology, and instructional technology. She has also completed practicum and internship experiences in counseling, supervision, and vocational rehabilitation.
Teaching
Maneev brings over a decade of experience in higher education, counseling, and supervision. Prior to joining Bradley, she served as an adjunct instructor at Augsburg University and the University of St. Thomas, teaching courses in psychology, counseling, and lifespan development. At Bradley, she teaches Research Methods, Crisis Counseling, Assessment in Counseling, and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her teaching emphasizes the integration of theory with practice and reflects her commitment to preparing students for the complexities of professional counseling.
Scholarship
Her scholarly work focuses on disability, aging, caregiving, and counselor education. She has published in the Journal of Asia Pacific Counseling and has authored professional reviews for Chi Sigma Iota. She has delivered presentations at national and regional conferences, including the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), the Association for Adult Development and Aging (AADA), and the National Council on Rehabilitation Education (NCRE). Her research highlights include projects examining the training of counseling students to support individuals with disabilities, ethical considerations in counseling practice, and the lived experiences of caregivers for family members with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. She has received multiple research awards, including competitive grants from the University of Iowa’s College of Education.
Service
Dr. Maneev is also a dedicated leader and servant to the counseling profession. At Bradley, she serves on the Curriculum Committee. Nationally, she contributes as a reviewer for the Journal of Advanced Academics, Adultspan Journal, North Central Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, served as Secretary for the American Counseling Association of Iowa, and has held leadership roles within Chi Sigma Iota, including serving as President-Elect of the Rho Upsilon Chapter. Throughout her career, she has been actively engaged in mentoring students, supporting professional organizations, and volunteering in community settings that address the needs of diverse populations.
Across her teaching, research, and service, Dr. Maneev is committed to advancing the counseling profession through inclusive education, innovative scholarship, and meaningful leadership. Her work reflects a passion for preparing counselors who are skilled, ethical, and compassionate in addressing the needs of clients, families, and communities.
