Students, faculty share research to deaf-blind support organization

Two Bradley special education majors shared research with members of the New York Deaf-Blind Collaboration in October.
Alexandra Vickery ’17, of Sugar Grove, Illinois, and Claire Piper ’17, of Portage, Michigan, shared insights into issues affecting deaf-blind people who also have autism or CHARGE syndrome. CHARGE syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects sensory systems, including hearing and sight, and developmental delays.
Additionally, the students and Bradley teacher education professor Dr. Pat Chrosniak will develop an informational webinar for the NYDBC. The New York organization brings together educators, state personnel and families to improve services of children who are deaf-blind.
