Phone Dialing and Features
Beginning October 24th the University will be required to dial 1 309 XXX XXXX to make local calls. This is in compliance with FCC Order FCC 20-100. In area codes (309) where 899 is an assigned working prefix. This change is to ensure users can dial the 3 digit 988 number to reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
In order to make a local call from campus you will need to dial 9+1+309+XXX+XXXX. Dial 9 to gain outside access then 1 plus the 10-digit number.
Many stations on campus have “speed dial” buttons on the phone or abbreviated dialing lists. If these are local numbers, the number will need to be modified to incorporate the 1309 prior to the XXX XXXX dialed number.
If you need assistance reprogramming your “speed dial” numbers or abbreviated dialing lists please call 2964 and open a work ticket.

Phone Policies and Documentation
Bradley makes its telecommunications equipment and systems available for use by campus students and employees in the conduct of their normal business and personal affairs. Strictly commercial use is prohibited. Bills for services normally charged to employees and students are their responsibility to pay. Please report missing or damaged telephone equipment to our office immediately.
Don’t modify wiring or equipment; Bradley has standard plans that let us support all campus phones efficiently. Call us at x2964 if you have special needs. If you damage equipment or rewire your outlet, you will be charged for repairs to restore everything to its original condition. Repair charges can be expensive. Avoid them.
Some services and equipment from non-Bradley vendors are not compatible with campus phones and lines. If you wish to add something to your campus phone from another telephone company, please call us in advance. We may be able to help. You may not use Bradley’s address or any of its phone numbers to contract for outside phone services. Bradley has blocks on its lines that prevent unauthorized changes or charges. Be sure to use your permanent home address for any company bills. Bradley cannot be responsible for any services offered by third parties.
Obscene, abusive, threatening or harassing calls may be penalized by a jail term of up to six months and/or a $500 fine. Calls of this type should be reported to Bradley Police at x2000 for investigation, discipline or prosecution.
Student Phone Services
This information applies to the fraternities and sororities that have a Communication Services Agreement with Bradley University.
Bradley University has worked with the Greek houses to extend campus phone and Internet services to most of the houses. Each house is responsible for obtaining their own internal wiring for connecting with Bradley’s underground cables. These cables have been run to the outside of each building and serve as conduits for communications services. In order for all system parts to work well together, certain standards and terms have been established. Details of those plans and contracts follow. If you’re a Greek chapter officer, you may need to read all the standards and terms. If you just want to know what’s available and what it costs, skim these materials.
Includes the Delta Tau Delta and Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity Houses
We offer the following services to students in the Residence Halls: With the wide use of individual cell phones, Bradley University does not provide phones in individual rooms. However, this service can be provided at an additional yearly cost. Call the Service Desk at 2964.
Faculty and Staff Services
Bradley offices have a variety of services and equipment available to them. If you seek something specific that is not listed below, contact the Service Desk at x2964. To place an order, please call the Service Desk at extension 2964 and send a requisition for the proper amount to the Telecommunications office.
Please call the Service Desk at x2964 to create a work order for any moves, additions, or changes. We may need to do a survey of the service location. Some tasks are performed at no charge, but please consult the price estimates listed below. A requisition will be necessary for all billable work.
