The Kinesiology and Health Science (KHS) major is your gateway to a rewarding career in healthcare or advanced studies in the field. Whether you’re drawn to physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, speech-language pathology, or other health professions, this program gives you the academic foundation and hands-on experience to get there.
Choose Your Path:
Pre-Physical Therapy Track – Tailored for students planning to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. As a first-year KHS major, you can even apply for early assurance admission to Bradley’s DPT program!
General Health Science Track – A flexible pathway for careers in occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, athletic training, speech-language pathology, and other health-related fields.
Experiential Learning
- Network with industry professionals in class and extracurricular settings and employment fairs
- Earn course credit while working directly with clients in the Clinic for Fitness and Function, RockSteady Boxing gym, and the BU athletic training room
- Internship opportunities in hospitals, outpatient therapy clinics, summer camps, and community health organizations
- Professional development and networking through student organizations like Wags For Mags, Health Science Organization, and Alpha Epsilon Delta honor society

Minor
Expose yourself to current issues in nutrition, personal health, community health, and psychology. This minor offers courses from the sciences, family and consumer science, nursing, psychology and sociology. Though not required, you can pick courses that focus on a niche that interests you, such as children, adults or community health. The health minor is often paired with majors in nursing, community wellness, biology, psychology, elementary education, and health science.
