Education Studies (Non-Licensure)
The education studies program prepares you for a career in educational settings but does not require a state teaching license. This highly flexible program allows for the inclusion of a minor, and/or possibly additional major, aligned to your interests and future career goals. Students have great flexibility with this program and will work with their advisor to develop an individualized plan that includes a minimum of 120 hours.
The Department of Education is accredited by the Illinois State Board of Education.

Career Opportunities
Below are some examples of what you can pursue with an Education Studies degree.
Educational Design and Programming – There are many different jobs and organizations that work with children, such as museums and non-profits. Additionally, there are many different professions that are involved in developing educational products, such as curricular materials and educational games, that an Education Studies major would support.

- Youth Programming Director at various organizations or spaces (National/State Parks, Education Nonprofits, Zoos, Park Districts, etc.)
